Challenge
Metropolitan State University's School of Hospitality introduced the Chris Thibodeau Memorial Veterans Brewing Endowment to honor the lasting impact Chris made on the Brewing Operations Program. His dedication and vision helped shape the program, creating inspiration for students and future leaders in the industry. The label was ultimately created in recognition and celebration of Chris's contributions to the brewing community at MSU Denver.

Approach
The project began with research of Chris's affiliation with the United States Military, specifically the Air Force. This lead the direction of the design to appeal to his fellow airmen and others who have strong connections to the U.S. Military through family. The question became: how could we connect these dots without the motifs of weaponry while celebrating the life of Chris?

Outcome
The result was a label displaying recognizable motifs borrowed from the flag while also emulating a "badge of honor". The star acts as a source of energy and radiance similar to the impact Chris had on the brewing community at MSU Denver. While the wings attached to the badge highlight his time with the Air Force and the angelic wings he gained after his death.
